The furious water seek to run over the borders and the out of the river’s bed and the person has no strength; he feels overpowered.

The test of water is related to the vital body.

We all know that the vital body is the foundation of the physical body and as its name implies, it is the vehicle that stabilizes life in the physical part.

The initiate has to be tested by the element water; here he sees himself with an onslaught of terrible lust, impatience. His waters are furious seeking to overflow their borders and the person has no strength to be able to overcome their powers. Also, as in other tests, one says, “before I entered this Gnostic study, I never had these problems.”

The element water is testing the person; if the person remains faithful and firm, he overcomes and conquers this element making himself/herself king of that element and succeeds in entering the kingdom of that paradise where at some other time, he was kicked out.
